Gumroad Minimum Payout 2026: The $100 Standard Threshold?

Gumroad’s getting-paid guide describes a standard $100 USD requirement before a payout is released, and its account-review FAQ refers to the same figure as “the usual $100 minimum”. The threshold applies to the balance eligible for payout, not to your gross sales.

A separate account-closure rule applies when the payment partner permanently rejects an account. When a payment partner permanently rejects an account, Gumroad pays out a remaining balance of $1 or more on the next scheduled payout even though it is below the usual minimum. Below $1, its payout system cannot send the money at all. That exception is a wind-down rule, not an early-withdrawal option you can trigger.

On a weekly, monthly or quarterly schedule, a balance below the applicable minimum normally carries forward until the threshold is met. Requesting a scheduled payout does not remove the balance, review or account requirements. Eligible instant transfers follow the separate rules below.

Instant payouts have a separate minimum: eligible US accounts can request settled amounts from $1 up to $10,000, with a 3% transfer fee. The seven-day scheduled hold does not apply to this route. See instant payout eligibility for the account-history and card requirements.

Gumroad pays into a local bank account in the local currency for most supported countries, and a number of them carry a country-specific minimum written in that currency rather than in dollars. Gumroad marks them with a (min X) next to the payout currency and states that these thresholds differ from the standard $100 requirement.

This is an extract, not the full list: around thirty countries carry such a marker. Read the figure for your own country in the payout settings rather than converting one of these amounts into dollars, because the conversion rate Gumroad applies is the one at the time of sale, not at the time of payout.

Where bank deposits are not supported, PayPal is the only option and payouts are processed in USD. Gumroad does not support Payoneer, Wise, cheque or wire transfer as payout methods.

The threshold is measured on what is left after fees, which is materially less than your sales total. For a standard direct card sale, budget for a 10% + $0.50 platform fee and a separate 2.9% + $0.30 card processing charge. A $100 sale therefore leaves $86.30 before tax, refunds or affiliate deductions.

Two routes change this calculation. Sales that come through Gumroad Discover use a flat 30% rate that already includes processing, so the two lines above must not be added to it. And once paid sales in a calendar month pass $20,000, new direct sales that month drop to 5% + $0.50 automatically, resetting on the first of the following month.

Affiliate commissions split the fee proportionally between you and the affiliate. Refunds return Gumroad’s own share of the fee to you but not the processor’s share. Use the transaction export to reconcile your actual balance rather than applying one percentage to a monthly total.

Compare your sales export with the balance shown in Payments before assuming a sale is missing. The payouts dashboard lists each payout with its sale date range, total sales, deductions and net amount, and a CSV of any payout can be exported from it.

Expect the two views to disagree slightly. The payouts page is synced to UTC while the rest of the dashboard follows your account time zone, so a sale near midnight can sit on either side of the boundary. Credits also move the balance without being a sale: a won chargeback returns the withheld amount as a positive credit, an Australian backtax collection appears as a negative one, and they are paid out with the weekly payout rather than separately.

A displayed sales total is not a promise that the same amount can be withdrawn. Do not change your pricing for the sole purpose of crossing a payout threshold: price for customer value and a sustainable margin, and let the balance accumulate. Nothing expires while it waits.

Reaching the minimum is one of four conditions. Gumroad’s payout-delay guidance lists them together: the balance has reached your minimum payout amount, your payout details are saved and accepted by its payment partner, payouts on the account are not paused, and no earlier payout is still processing.

Account review is a separate gate on top of those four. Every account is reviewed before its first payout, and every payout day that comes around beforehand is skipped without an email. None of the money is lost, and the skipped amounts go out on the first payout day where the rest of the conditions are also met. Gumroad states that a verified account receives its first payout within seven days of the review, provided nothing else needs attention.

If your payouts page shows the balance and the minimum side by side, the threshold is the blocker. If it shows a note about a recently skipped payout, the threshold is met and something else is holding the transfer. For the practical sequence, read when Gumroad pays out. If the dashboard shows an unexplained delay of more than one week, give Gumroad support the payout identifier.
